Berlingots: Today a national landmark, the berlingot was created almost 800 years ago, by the pastry chef of Pope Clement V! The paste is cooked in copper cauldrons before being worked by hand (usually on a marble table) This gives to the berlingot its unique consistency once it cools down.
Mirabelle Plum: The Mirabelle plum appeared during Middle Age in Lorraine. This region now produces 90% of the world’s Mirabelles! This typical fruit from Lorraine now has its own “Label Rouge” and “protected geographical indication”. Used for all kind of products, including a famous liquor, the Mirabelle plum is now a symbol of the East of France, and a must-try in Traditions De France’s line!
Apple Cinnamon: Cinnamon started to be used in France in the 13th century in broths and in “Hippocras” (sweet and spicy medieval wine). It is still used in all sorts of dishes and preparations, where its unique aroma enhances the flavors of other ingredients. Our candies combine the sweetness and acidity of the apples to the enchanting taste of the cinnamon powder they contain!
